Connecting a server
Adding a server
Sidebar → Servers → add:
- Name — how the server appears in the list.
- Host — IP or domain.
- Port — usually 22.
- User — SSH username.
- Auth — password or private key.
Secrets (passwords and keys) are encrypted via DPAPI/safeStorage and stay on your computer only.
Connection security
- On first connection the app stores the server's host key fingerprint (TOFU — Trust On First Use).
- Subsequent connections verify the fingerprint. If the server suddenly presents a different key, the connection is aborted with a warning — protection against interception.
What you can do with a server
- Run commands — ask the agent in chat to do something on the server (restart a service, check logs, update files).
- Browse files — directory listings.
- Transfer files — upload and download over SFTP/FTP.
